Unicon is an official Jasig partner and authorized Solution Provider for both CAS and uPortal. Currently, John Lewis, the Chief Software Architect at Unicon, is on the Jasig Board of Directors. Jasig is a consortium of educational institutions and commercial affiliates sponsoring open source software projects for higher education, fostering collaboration within and among communities of practice. Jasig is a non-profit 501(c)3 membership organization organizing conferences in support of open source software design, development, and implementation. Jasig provides hosting and representation for several open source projects including uPortal and Central Authentication Service (CAS).

Unicon is an Affiliate of InCommon, a formal federation of organizations focused on creating a common framework for collaborative trust in support of research and education. Through InCommon participation, Unicon can further provide higher education institutions both the community support and collaboration needed to successfully deploy and maintain a federated identity management service, such as Shibboleth Federated Single Sign-On Authentication Service. InCommon facilitates development of a community-based common trust fabric sufficient to enable participants to make appropriate decisions about the release of identity information and the control of access to protected online resources. InCommon Affiliates provide consulting, content, hosting, support, and training for the InCommon Community.
